Upcycled Grocery Gift Wrap

I’m so excited to share my latest project…custom gift wrap with upcycled grocery bags! The thing that makes this project so cool is the Weathered Wood Finish I used to turn the paper such a pretty blue. The finish is typically used for furniture refinishing and other wood projects, but this is another great application.

Supplies:

Grocery bags
Driftwood Weathered Wood Finish
Foam pouncers
Paint Brush
Scissors
Tape
Embellishments (ribbon, paper scraps, paper flowers, or anything you have on hand)

Instructions:

Prepare the Weathered Wood Finish according to the package instructions.

Cut the grocery store bag sides and use one side of it.

For dots, dip a foam pouncer into the finish and stamp. For an all-over effect, lightly brush the finish over the bag.

Allow to dry for approx. 30 minutes and repeat.

Wrap your gift as you normally would.

Add embellishments. I used ribbon, scrapbook paper, a monogram sticker and other craft items I had left over from other projects.
