Hi, I’m Bec – a thirty-something mum living in the UK, navigating the beautifully chaotic blend of family life, creativity, and career. By day, I work in marketing and content writing (yes, I really do love a good spreadsheet and a perfectly crafted sentence), but Life in Velvet is where I get to share the things that bring me joy, spark my curiosity, and make everyday life that little bit lovelier. I have a few different blogs, and have been blogging for 13 years now – you could say that my hobby has turned into a bit of an addiction!
I live with my husband, our brilliant kids, two mischievous dogs, and four independent-minded cats – it’s safe to say there’s never a dull moment in our house! When I’m not working or wrangling pets and packed lunches, you’ll find me dreaming up travel plans, getting stuck into a craft project, sharing my favourite motivational quotes, or cooking or baking something delicious (with varying levels of success…).
I’ve always had a passion for interiors, health and wellness, and making a house feel like a home – whether that’s through cosy touches, clever DIY, or a splash of paint and Pinterest inspiration. I’m also fascinated by all things business and law, and love learning new things that keep both sides of my brain ticking. You’ll also soon discover that I’m.a bit of a Disney nut, and a sucker for all things Disney, whether it’s trivia, a quote or travelling to the different Disney theme parks!
