Displaying Throw Blankets

I’m constantly cold, and hubby has an obsession with having fans going, so multiple blankets in every room is a thing at our house. I love beautiful throws draped over the furniture, but I also need to keep my bulky fleece blankets organised in an attractive way.

I thought it would be really simple to find a relatively inexpensive huge basket, but I quickly discovered that was not the case. I searched all over the place, and finally landed on these two. They are huge enough that they look modern and make a statement, but they were both very reasonable.

I removed the liner and used white spray paint to create a more updated look

For the gold dipped basket next to the fireplace, I used Guild Lane GILD Liquid Gold Acrylic Gilding Paint to paint this Large Kaisa Storage Basket from Ten Thousand Villages. It was huge and made of a softer fiber, so it won’t scratch delicate fabrics.

I also love to layer some of my smaller throws to add a little texture and pop of interest.

The gold throw is from Target and the one with the large pom poms is from my new favorite local shop, Sugarboo.

I’m so not ready for summer to be over, but we’re well stocked for the colder weather right around the corner!
