I plan to undertake a massive home office reorganization project soon. Our office is so messy and scary right now that I refuse to post pictures (though I will once I complete my overhaul.) Here are some of the best ideas I have come across in my search for inspiration.
Keep small clutter off your desk by finding storage solutions that multitask. Attach a magnetic strip (available at Container Store) to the bottom of a shelf to display small supplies in jars or hang supplies from a thin rod attached to the wall.
I always end up with scattered papers and post-it reminders everywhere. A magnetic white board and hanging folders allow you to keep important papers easily accessible while keeping them organized and out of your way.
If you have a small office or even just an office area within another room, floor to ceiling shelving will allow you to maximize your space while staying organized.
Color coordinating allows your eyes to rest and creates a clutter-free feel.
Messy cords drive me completely crazy. Keep cords out of sight and prevent tangling with a charging station.
Figure out a labeling system. This is the easiest and least expensive way to make your office work for you. I love chalkboard labels because they look neat and you can change them as often as you like.
Lastly, invest in fun office supplies you love. I find small things like this can get me more excited to work when I’m not motivated.
