Do you need a last minute Valentine’s gift? If you’re anything like me, I’ll get ahead of myself planning all of these amazing things to do, only to get crunched for time the day of. The best laid plans, right?! A drink station for two is the perfect solution. This is a great way to add a nice little touch to your evening with things you already have around the house.
We love pretty much anything bubbly, so I put together this simple Campari Kiss cocktail. To make this shake together 1 part chilled vodka, 1/2 part St. Germain, a splash of Campari and the juice of a blood orange. Top with prosecco.
All you need to recreate this look is a tray, heart garland, cocktail shaker and fun glasses.
I like this idea so much that I think it’s going to be a regular thing at our house. Instead of hearts, a few fresh stems in a vase or sprigs of fresh herbs could serve to add a festive touch.
FAQs: DIY Drink Station for Two
Q: How can I keep the drink station compact?
A: Use a small side table, tray, or bar cart. Choose just 2–3 key drinks, minimal glassware, and one stylish ice bucket to keep it tidy and romantic.
Q: Can I set up a drink station indoors and outdoors?
A: Absolutely. For indoors, a kitchen counter or bar cart works well. For outdoors, choose a stable surface (like a picnic table or crate stack) and keep drinks chilled in an insulated bucket or cooler.
Q: How do I add a personal touch to the drink station?
A: Use custom labels, handwritten menus, or a chalkboard sign. You can also include your partner’s favorite snacks, matching glassware, or a mini bouquet.
Q: What should I include besides drinks?
A: Don’t forget garnishes (like lime wedges, mint, or berries), cocktail napkins, a small ice bucket with tongs, and a shaker if you’re making cocktails.
Q: How can I make it feel special without spending much?
A: Use what you already have at home—repurpose jars as glasses, use a cutting board for a mini snack platter, and add candles or fairy lights for a romantic vibe.
Q: Can I prep the station in advance?
A: Definitely. Pre-slice garnishes, chill your drinks, and set everything out 30 minutes before your date begins. This way, you’re not stuck mixing or setting up while you could be enjoying the evening.
